ISO/IEC 17020 Inspection Bodies

Practical interpretation of ISO/IEC 17020

In an inspiring way explanation is given about all requirements (and interpretations) of the ISO standard and how requirements can be fulfilled in a pragmatic way.

With an effective quality system the inspection body can perform proper inspections which are fit for purpose, without ending in bureaucratic processes. By focusing on the common sense, the requirements of the standard can easily be dealt with.

Since many years, inspection bodies have been accredited against ISO/IEC 17020:1998 in combination with the Guidance EA IAF/ILAC:A4 (2004).

In March 2012, however, ISO/IEC 17020:2012 has been published.
This standard will replace ISO/IEC 17020:1998 and the Guidance EA IAF/ILAC:A4 (2004). For inspection bodies that are already accredited or inspection bodies aiming at accreditation, it means that within 2 years they have to fulfill all requirements of the revised standard.

Lab-QAcademy has therefore developed a new training course ’Practical interpretation of ISO/IEC 17020:2012’. This training course will focus on the requirements of ISO/IEC 17020 and the differences with the 1998 version.
